Proliferative effect of EGF and IGF-1 on the expression of beta-tubulin in UMR106 cells

1994
Recent studies indicates that the free tubulin and microtubules are involved in regulating initiation of cell proliferation. EGF and IGF-1 can increase beta-tubulin gene expression, tubulin biosynthesis and polymerization effectively in UMR106 cells. This process may be involved in the initiation of cellular DNA synthesis and accelerate mitogenesis.
