Experimental research and recent development of the technologies of cyanide containing wastewater treatment

This paper reviewed cyanide wastewater hazards and the current development of treatment technolo-gies for this kind of water, comprehensively and systematically. The wastewater from Daqing Petrochemical Company Chemical Plant which produced acrylonitrile was treated by four-times evaporation ,but did not reach the emission standards, taking CN into account. So we used ultrafiltration and dual-reverse osmosis process to deal with the point. The results showed that: the combined technology could not only remove COD stably,to which the removal efficiency was at 87% or higher, but also removed CN effectively. Increasing the pH value was good to CN removal. In this study NaOH was used to clean the fouled membranes. Then the washing water could be used to adjust the pH value of the raw water.
