Выявление антимутагенного и антиканцерогенного действия экстрактов имбиря ( Zingiber officinale Roscoe)

In the present study the dried rhizomes of Zingiber were extracted with water, еthanol, and n-hexane. The antimutagenicity of these extracts was assayed against the mutagenicity of sodium azide by Ames test using tester strain of Salmonella typhimurium (TA100). The antimutagenicity of the extracts was found in the order of water-ethanol-n-hexane. All the extracts decreased sodium azide mutagenicity in S. typhimurium strain (TA100) and showed strong antimutagenicity. Also by adding microsome of rat liver (S9) the anticancer effect of extracts was proved.
