New silver fast ion-conducting glassy materials in the AgI-Ag2SO4-TeO2 system

2006
New silver fast ion-conducting glasses have been prepared based on the AgI-Ag 2 SO 4 -TeO 2 system. The glasses were obtained by the melt-quenching method. The dopants AgI and Ag 2 SO 4 have been added to different compositions of tellurite glasses. The conductivity measurements of the glasses were performed over the frequency range 1 Hz to 10 MHz at different temperatures using impedance spectroscopy. The highest ionic conductivity was measured with the 60AgI-24Ag 2 SO 4 -16TeO 2 glass σ 1 = 2.3x 10 -2 S·cm -1 at 27°C.
