The antiproliferative and antimicrobial activity of methyl-6-amino-3-acyl-4-aryl-5-cyano-4H-pyran-2-carboxylates and their analogs synthesized based on methyl-2,4-dioxobutanoates have been investigated. According to the results of antiproliferative activity testing using the U. S. National Cancer Institute program NCI 60 Cell One Dose Screen, it was found that the maximum activity (exceeding that of the reference drugs cisplatin and busulfan) is inherent in methyl 6-amino-5-cyano-4-(furan-2-yl)-3-(methoxybenzoyl)-4H-pyran-2-carboxylate. The antimicrobial activity comparable with that of chloramine was observed for methyl-6-amino-3-acetyl-4-phenyl-5-cyano-4H-pyran-2-carboxylate.
