Hand Therapist Carpal Tunnel Clinic

We report our experience with a carpal tunnel clinic run by a Hand Therapist, including the reasons why it was set up, the process by which it is run and the effect on our practice. 780 patients were allocated, on the basis of the general practitioner referral letter, to see a hand therapist rather than a consultant. This allowed time for detailed assessment and relieved 643 consultant clinic slots for other patients.
