A Brief Study and Overview of Image Fusion Methods

Due to some camera limitations, it is not practically possible to click all the objects focused in a single scene, while human observer likes to see the clear images with all the fine details present in the scene. Similarly for diagnosis purpose, all the pertinent information is required in a single modality image, but due to high cost instrument limitations, it is not possible in practical, to shot at a single instance, all the pertinent and essential details in a solo modality. Thus, concept of image fusion has an essential role here. With the advancement in the technology and recent applications, image fusion model has become quite beneficial in different areas like military, medical, surveillance as well as defense, etc. Here, we will review different kind of image fusion models with advantages and disadvantages.
