Moral Judgement, Heuristic Use and Cognitive Activity Indicators: Contributions to a Prosocial Behavior Model

The aim of the present study is to do a preliminary analysis of the relation between moral judgment and several Other cognitive variables as heuristic use, memory and attention. A sample of 155 subjects aged 15-55 answered to Rest's Defining Issues Test and to questionnaire about a criminal case. They also had to write an essay reconstructing this case. This was used to measure memory, attention and heuristic use. Results showed the importance of the different cognitive variables in the use of moral judgments in the conventional level
