Dyeing and finishing industry is consisted of small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and has large percentage in energy-related expenditures. The three main research directions for increasing energy efficiency are 1)development of new energy source, 2)improvement of fossil fuel and equipment, and 3)enhancement of process and systematical efficiency. Due to the insufficient capital and resource of SMEs, the last research direction is the most appropriate to apply, which can also lead to additional productivity improvements. Service platform to increase process and systematical efficiency requires proper application of digital twin. For the purpose, this study implements and applies digital twin virtual representation. This virtual representation makes digital twin applications to create, synchronize and utilize digital twin. It also has a high level of object orientation that applies the ‘type and instance’ concept, and distributed management in asset administration shell. The result is advanced information management and provision of the required technical functionalities.
