Cape Parrots and yellowwoods : birds and plants

2009
A third of all parrot species are threatened with extinction, making them the most threatened of all the bird families. Many of the world's parrots live in forest habitats. The birds depend on certain types of trees to provide their basic needs : food, nest-sites and roost-sites. Without the right trees, there would be no more parrots. Parrots are very mobile - they are strong fliers and their daily movements follow the availability of food and nest-site resources.
