CHARACTERIZATION OF LARGE GRANULAR LYMPHOCYTE (LGL) TUMORS IN THE RAT

The present study describes a series of spontaneously occurring and transplantable LGL leukemias in rats and briefly examines their morphologic, antigenic and functional characteristics. The results demonstrate that these tumors are quite heterogeneous. Some of these tumors, however, share many characteristics with normal rat NK cells and are highly cytotoxic for NK-susceptible target cells.
