Studies of neonatal calf diarrhorea, V. Water balances in calves with mixed infections.

1976
SUMMARY An investigation is described of a diarrhoeic syndrome in neonatal calves whose faeces were heavily contaminated with Pseudomonas spp. or Proteus vulgaris in addition to Escherichia coli. Dying affected calves were very dull and died quickly with little weight loss (4 per cent). One calf produced bulky faeces and gained virtually no weight in eight days but was never diarrhoeic.
