Toxicities of Five types of insecticide to Adults of Invasive Thrips Echinothrips americanus Morgan in China

The invasive thrips Echinothrips americanus Morgan was recently reported in China,which causes damage to many greenhouse crops.The toxicities of five types of insecticide to adults of E.americanus were determined using residue-on-glass exposure technique.[Results] The results showed that the order of toxicity to Echinothrips americanus Morgan adults from low to high is: chlorpyrifos,acetamiprid,abamectin,beta cypermethrin and spinosad.[Conclusions] In the controlling of this pest,chlorpyrifos should be avoided,the biogenic pesticides spinosad are recommended and alternate use of pyrethroid and nicotine pesticides should be adopted.
