EFFICIENCY IN AREA-SCANNING FOR EVENTS IN NUCLEAR EMULSIONS

The derivation of an equation for determining the efficiency of emulsion scanning is given. Results are tabulated for area scans of 3G1, 3G3, and 1G1 normal and loaded emulsions. Sources of error are discussed. (B.O.G.)
