Backup Support of Slender Percutaneous Coronary Intervention Guiding Catheter
2020
Under ordinary circumstances, the Slender percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) guiding catheter (GC) offers less backup support than large-diameter GC. This is true when both catheters are engaged in a coronary artery in the quite same situation with normal engagement. Because a big diameter tube can enlarge the rigidity relative to the bending moment comparing with a small diameter tube. However, there are several techniques to take advantages of Slender PCI and its flexible features to compensate for the limited backup support. A few Slender PCI techniques will be introduced in this chapter.
