Application of AM fungi in Phytoremediation of Metal Polluted Soil

2017
Inside this book we have described the application of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi in different type of polluted environments, such as role of AM fungi in remediation of metal polluted soil in industrial polluted area from Trichy, Tamil Nadu state, India is described in the first part. In the second part the pollutants in tannery effluent polluted area of Chennai, Dindigul are described. In the third part the role of AM fungi in salinity tolerance and reclamation of salinity soil also analyzed, based upon the study carried out in Rajakkamangalam of Kanyakumari District, Tamil Nadu state, India. Apart from India, a phytoremediation study in mining polluted area of Zamora-Chinchippe, Ecuador, using selected experimental plants also described in the fourth part. In all these polluted sites, the name of pollutants was listed by metal analysis of soil samples. The name of plants harboured, name of AM fungi colonized, estimation of mycorrhizal population, preparation of mycorrhizal inoculum and the methods to execute the process of phytoremediation using AM fungi are also described in this chapter.
