The invention discloses an interface adjusting method for user equipment and the user equipment. The method for adjusting an interface in the user equipment with a touch screen comprises the following steps of detecting whether the touch operation of a user under the current program is a long-distance touch mode or not; when detecting that the touch operation of the user for the current program is the long-distance touch mode, moving an interface element which is touched or to be touched by the user in the long-distance touch mode from a long-distance touch area to a near-range touch area of the screen of the user equipment. According to the method disclosed by the invention, the interface element touched in the long-distance touch mode is moved from the long-distance touch area to the near-range touch area of the screen of the user equipment when detecting that the current program is in the long-distance touch mode, so that the simplicity and the convenience of the operation on the user equipment with the touch screen by the user with a single hand are improved; meanwhile, the misoperation probability is reduced.
