DEVELOPMENT OF EMULSION-TYPE FLOWABLE FORMULATION

1983
Abstract Emulsion-type flowable formulations (Emulsion Concentrate) are prepared by dispersing liquid technical materials in water in the presence of proper dispersing agents under vigorous stirring, followed by addition of thickening agents. Fenvalerate 10% and fenitrothion 20% flowables were developed. They show fairly good chemical and physical stability. The biological efficacy is almost the same as that of EC. Viscosity is about 1000 cps, and the formulation can be easily sprayed after dilution by means of a conventional sprayer. Suspensibility of these formulations is better than that of WP. Most characteristic features of these formulations are decrease of acute oral toxicity and nonirritation. It was also found that the flowable formulations do not drift so much and the spray mist is apt to fall faster than that of EC.
