Topic: Coal Geology, Resources, and Utilization Coal deposits as promising sources of rare metals for alternative power and energy-efficient technologies

Some rare metals (RM) ದ Ge, Ga, Se, Li, and REY, which play a key role in energy-efficient technologies and alternative power development (solar sells and wind turbines, energy saving lighting (CFLs, LEDs), hybrid and electric vehicles, superconducting electric power lines etc) are accumulated in abnormal concentrations in many coal deposits worldwide. High enrichment of these metals may occur in the coal seams, and in the host- and basement rocks of some coal basins in comparable concentration with conventional ores.
