Dynamic False Profile View Prior to Curved Periacetabular Osteotomy

1998
We performed curved periacetabular osteotomy on 20 hips in 20 patients with osteoarthrosis in the dysplastic hip since 1995. Anteroposterior radiograph in abduction is useful for simulating the postoperative relationships of the femoral head and acetabulum in the frontal plane. Since, however, there exists no method for simulating the same relationships in the sagittal plane, false profile radiograph of the flexion, which is a dynamic false profile view, was taken for the evaluation of the anterior coverage and congruency in the sagittal plane prior to curved periacetabular osteotomy.
