Desarrollo de habilidades básicas en lenguaje y matemáticas en egresados de Pedagogía. Un estudio comparativo.

This paper summarizes the main results from a study dedicated to determining the level of development attained by students who graduate from undergraduate pedagogical study programs in Language and Mathematics, the factors that appear to account for this situation and their connection with the remedial actions implemented by teacher training establishments. Results indicate that the improvement in language and mathematics skills experienced by the students from the time they start studying and up to graduation is limited, although some progress is evident in terms of language behavior and some dimensions involving basic skills. Only a weak connection is detected between these results and the remedial actions identified, both in terms of institutions and individuals.
