Thermal-Constrained. Energy-Aware Load Management on MPSoC Architectures

This paper introduces a novel strategy to restrain rising peak temperatures of MPSoC systems by incorporating task migration and task swapping while reducing the energy consumption and meeting the deadlines of high priority tasks. Hot spots formed by high-frequency execution of tasks are alleviated using a heuristic approach and the power consumption is reduced through energy-aware task migration. Furthermore, the proposed heuristics manage to maintain a high throughput. Extensive experiments were performed to confirm the effectiveness of the proposed technique compared to other techniques in the literature.
