Analyzer to measure the optical loss distribution along an optical cable

We have built a prototype reflectometer for analysis of the loss distribution along the length of an optical cable. We have developed the mathematical apparatus for treatment of the measurement results. The specifications of the analyzer are sufficient for real-time inspection of in-service lines. The modular design of the instrument makes it possible to vary the cost of the analyzer over a broad range.
