The invention provides a device for picking crystalline grains with multi-surface detection ability and a method thereof.The device for picking crystalline grains comprises the following components: a supplying module; a loading module, which is next to the supplying module; a rotating module, which is arranged above the loading module; a first fetching and placing module, which includes a plurality of fetching and placing units, and each fetching and placing unit is rotatably arranged on the rotating module; a side detection module, which is arranged at one side of the first fetching and placing module; wherein the supplying module is used for arranging at least one crystalline grain; each fetching and placing unit absorbs a crystalline grain and rotates for a certain angle, so that the side detection module can capture images of multi-surface of the crystalline grain, and the crystalline grain absorbed by each fetching and placing unit is placed in the loading module. The method for picking crystalline grains contains the following steps: capturing images of multi-surface of the crystalline grain; moving the crystalline grain to the side detection module, which is used for capturing images of multi-surface of the crystalline grain; and placing the crystalline grain into the loading module.
