Methods of Analytical Modeling the Process of Freight Transportation Management in the Regional Transport Complex

2021
The conditions under which transport and technological systems operate are determined by the level of development and specifics of economic relations in the country. With a sufficiently developed market economy, all transport facilities function in a competitive environment as elements of a single business community. When exporting grain via multimodal transport, the client chooses not only the specific port from which he will pick up the cargo belonging to him, but also the entire preliminary transport chain. The choice of such a chain is made in accordance with the customer’s ideas about the criteria for effective delivery and the operational information available to them for these specific conditions. This article presents an approach to study the distribution of export flows of grain cargo between ports in order to effectively implement the relevant multimodal transport. At the same time, for the first time in the literature, the possibilities of the modified gravitational and economic-geographical methods and the results obtained are compared. As a result, it is possible to identify the zones within which transportation is most effective, taking into account geographical, economic, and infrastructure factors.
