A systematic study of neutron skin thickness in transitional nuclei using HFB theory

2019
A systematic study of the emergence of neutron skin in transitional nuclei like W, Os and Pt is conducted with the help of Skyrme Hartree-Fock-Bogoliubov theory. Different Skyrme interactions are employed in the study. Two different bases, harmonic oscillator and transformed harmonic oscillator, are used in our investigation. 2n-separation energy, charge radii, neutron and proton rms radii and deformation parameter have been estimated. The emergence of neutron skin in these nuclei has been analysed based on rms radii and neutron and proton density distribution. Neutron skin is predicted to be formed near to the neutron drip-line.
