Surgical treatment and perioperative management of senile patients with stomach carcinoma

Obiective To explore the clinical characteristics and surgical methods for senile patients with stomach carcinoma in order to guide the diagnosis and treatment.Methods The data of preoperative preparation,method of operation and aftertreatment of 76 senile patients(over 60 years old)with gastric cancer was analyzed retrospectively.Results There were 49 patients(64.5%) accompanied with other disease such as diabetes,cardiac disease and hypertension among the 76 cases,22 cases(28.9%)appeared complications after operation,no died.Conclusion Treatment of accompenied diseases and improvment of nutrient condition before operation for elderly patients are essential.The option of operation methods should follow individual principle.
