The generation of the double windows of EIT in W-type 4-level cylindrical quantum dot

Abstract In this paper, effect of the control lasers detuning on generation of the double window and also full width half maximum (FWHM) of electromagnetically induced transparency (EIT) are investigated. The quantum system is a W-type 4-level GaAs cylindrical quantum dot (QD) with parabolic potential. The Schrodinger equation is solved in method of effective mass. Using obtained eigen functions and eigenvalues, susceptibility of cylindrical QD is found. Dependence of electromagnetically induced transparency on the probe and control lasers detuning, radius and height of cylindrical QD, polarization and amplitudes of probe and control lasers are also investigated.
