Regional Flood Estimation Method for the A.C.T., Revisited

A regional flood estimation procedure is presented for gauged and ungauged catchments in the Australian Capital Territory. For 14 catchments, flood frequencies were determined by testing several distributions with the annual maxima and partial duration series. Multiple regression analysis of peak flood discharges found catchment area and fraction of catchment forested to be most significant of the variables considered.
