Synthesis and Antibacterial Activity of 1-(4-Aminosulfonylphenyl)-5-aryl-4-acyl-3-hydroxy-3-pyrrolin-2-ones

A series of 1-(4-aminosulfonylphenyl)-5-aryl-4-acyl-3-hydroxy-3-pyrrolin-2-ones have been synthesized by the reaction of methyl esters of acylpyruvic acids with a mixture of aromatic aldehyde and 4-aminobenzenelsulfamide. The proposed structures are confirmed by 1 H NMR and IR spectroscopy. The re- sults of investigations of the antibacterial activity of the synthesized compounds are presented.
