Crucial Factors for Successful Entrepreneurial Start-ups

The most challenging task of the 21st century is to realize the significance of innovative services, well-informed employees, and strategic flexibility. It is suggested that entrepreneurial competencies, innovation, and network competence should have a substantial influence on the enterprise’s performance. Thus, business owners arm themselves with these vital skills. This research examines the influence of entrepreneurial competencies, entrepreneurial innovativeness, and network competence on SME’s success under the moderating role of the government support and turbulent environment among the Malaysian SME service sector. Furthermore, the quantitative method is applied to get the maximum information from SME owners. Moreover, non-probability sampling methods are used to collect data from the target population. The PLS-SEM technique is employed to calculate inferential statistics. This research work stipulates a valuable vision regarding the context of the competencies mentioned. In a sample of 600 entrepreneurs/partners from the Malaysian SME service sector, the study results discover the positive influence of entrepreneurial competencies and network competence while negatively influencing entrepreneurial innovativeness on business success. However, high environmental turbulence negatively moderates the entrepreneurial competencies, innovativeness, and network competence for venture success. Similarly, government support expressively regulates the entrepreneurial competencies and innovativeness to venture triumph association. Government support is found to be non-supportive as a moderator for network competence. This research work stipulates a valuable vision regarding the context of the competencies and provides guidelines for policymakers. Findings suggest that the business owners who equip themselves with these vital skills will truly standardize entrepreneurial success and enhance their executive advisability. The implications, limitations, and future recommendations are discussed in the study. Additionally, PLS analysis findings are extended through IMPMA, and managerial implications are also suggested based on IPMA results.
