A Discussion on the Relationship between Water Shortage and Poverty in China

China has the largest population in the world.As a developing country,China has more poor population,and has difficulty in alleviating poverty.At present,most poor rural areas are characterized by the shortage of water resources,water conservancy infrastructure establishment hysteresis,water supply safety guarantee rate low,and agricultural farmland irrigation rate low.This paper uses the criterion at home and abroad to judge the regional water shortage degree.Based on the type of water shortage,we can analyze the state of regional water shortage.We discuss the relationship between water shortage and poverty with the help of calculation and diagram on the basis of acquainting the geographical distribution of national-level poverty-stricken county.The result can support the formulation of development strategy in the region of water shortage.
