The invention discloses an alginic acid antibacterial hemostatic sponge material which is suitable for being applied to wound dressing and a preparation method for the alginic acid antibacterial hemostatic sponge material. The preparation method comprises the following steps: uniformly dispersing alginic acid fibers which are cut into a certain length and a sliver-containing antibacterial agent into a sodium alginate aqueous solution, wherein the sodium alginate aqueous solution is cross-linked by positive ions combined on the fibers to form a stable porous sponge structure, and the sliver-containing antibacterial agent is uniformly distributed on the surface and inside the porous sponge structure. The alginic acid antibacterial hemostatic sponge material has excellent performances while being applied to the wound dressing. The porous sponge structure has strong moisture absorption performance, and can be used for greatly absorbing wound percolate to form gel, so that a wet environment is provided for the wound to promote the wound to heal; sliver-containing antibacterial dressing can be added to prevent the wound from bacterial infection, so that adhesion is not produced to the wound, and secondary injuries are not caused to the wound.
