g factor of the 3.830 MeV (15/2$sup +$) level in $sup 41$Ca

1975
The g factor of the 3.830 MeV level of $sup 41$Ca has been measured by the time differential perturbed angular distribution method to be g=+0.29 +- 0.02. The reaction $sup 27$Al($sup 16$O, p,n)$sup 41$Ca was used to populate the state in a magnetic field of 58 kG. The measured g factor can be understood within the configuration (d$sub 3$/$sub 2$$sup -1$ f$sub 7$/$sub 2$$sup 2$)$sup 15$/$sup 2+$. The calculated g factor depends sensitively on the isospin character of the particle--hole interaction.
