Apparatus and method for detection of mold in building material surfaces

The invention relates to a method and an apparatus (100, 500) for detecting and determining an amount of under irradiation with ultraviolet light (104, 504) fluorescent mold on building material surfaces (101, 501). The apparatus comprises a light source (103, 503) which is adapted to ultraviolet light (104, 504) to a region to be examined (102, 502) of the building material surface (101, 501) emit. The apparatus further includes a light receiver (105, 505) which is adapted to detect light (106, 506) from the area to be tested (102, 502) to be received. The apparatus also comprises a control unit (107, 507) which is adapted to the to the light receiver (105, 505) received light (106, 506) to check as to whether the received light (106, 506) at least partially fluoresziertes having light. The control unit (107, 507) is adapted to, in the case that a fluorescent light component is detected, the mold quantity on at least a part of the building material surface (101, 501), on the basis of a previously (in at least one to be examined region 102 to determine 502) of the building material surface (101, 501 executed) qualitative detection of mold quantitatively.
