Study and Application of Expendable Pattern Casting Coating for Large Castings

A new coating for expendable pattern casting(EPC)specially used for large castings was developed through experimental research on ingredient adjustment and aggregate grain size matching of the coating.The new coating was characterized by high ambient strength and good high temperature permeability.The defects such as gas-hole and surface slag easily formed in large EPC castings were eliminated and the surface quality and dimensional accuracy improved by using of the coating.
