Determining the caking ability of coals

1984
Samples of coal and anthracite (inert material) are heated in a stainless steel tube in the absence of air to determine the amount of inert material caked by the plastic coal mass. It is suggested that there is a useful relationship between caking capacity and a range of technological parameters, including plastometric shrinkage.
