A Solar Dryer for Large, Round Alfalfa Bales

A single-bale, portable solar dryer was constructed and tested. It was found that the negative-pressure system was feasible for multiple-bale dryers and that design criteria established on pressurized systems could be used for negative-pressure systems. Hay packaged at 40% moisture content dried more uniformly if baled with a fixed-chamber baler.
