The� word� lamia,� which� came� from� Antiquity� to� designate� a� female� supernatural� monster,� was� common� in� demonological� treatises� on� witchcraft� from� the� 15 th � century� onwards.� In� the� present� contribution� we� analyse� the� evolution� of� the� concept� and� its� use� in� the� Latin� treatises,� in� particular� that� by� Ulrich� Molitor,� De� Lamiis� et� Pythonicis� mulieribus.� � �
