NITRATES IN BEETROOT AND SODIUM FERTILIZATION
2017
The demonstrational comparative experiment with (round red)
beetroot fertilized by sodium with the doses of 100 and 200 kg
ha(-1) NaCl inaddition to the basic NPK fertilization showed
29% reduction in the nitrate content in the fresh matter of the
harvested beetroot. At the same time, the beetroot yield
increased by 8.8%. The increase in the yield resulted in
further uptake of nitrogen from the soil, so after the
conversion of the increased yield, the actual reduction of the
NO3- content in the experimental sodium fertilization variant
was 27%. The water content in the experimental soil increased,
but a negative impact on the water-air soil regime has been
negligible so far.
