Synthesis, characterization, and crystal structure of N - p -nitrobenzoyl- N ′- p -chlorophenylthiourea

N-p-nitrobenzoyl-N′-p-chlorophenylthiourea was synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, IR and 1H NMR etc. Single crystal structure of the title compound was determined on X-ray diffraction instrument. It is confirmed that the title compound crystallizes in monoclinic space group P2(1)/c, with a= 8.5985(14) A, b= 12.1537(19) A, c= 14.972(2) A, β = 105.886(2)◦, and Dcalc = 1.482 g/cm3 for Z= 4. Intermolecular N– H· · ·O H-bonds link pairs of two molecules. H-bonds and π -π stacking are the main non-bonding interactions in the molecular structure.
