OST vascular diseases have a tendency to affect both the heart and the brain. The cerebrovascular complications of congenital heart diseases include: ischemic stroke caused by the hyperviscosity syndrome in cyanotic heart disease; and embolic stroke due to infective endocarditis and cervicocephalic arterial dissections or IAs associated with AC. The association between IAs and AC was first described by Eppinger. 6 The estimated incidence of AC in patients with IAs is low, ranging from 0.19 to 1.9%. 7,16,22 Nevertheless, the 4.8% incidence 18 of IA rupture is higher in patients with AC compared with the estimated incidence of aneurysm rupture in the general population, which is less than 1%. 25 Three patients with IAs associated with asymptomatic
