Study of epiphyseal-metaphyseal vessels of bone aftor fracture

2001
Objective:The effects of epiphyseal-metaphyseal were know a little after fracture. Methods:The experiment involved 24 rabbits.4 rabbits were killed and performed ink perfusion on artery of femur to survey the blood vessels of compacta of epiphysis and metaphysis, the orthers received simulated fracture on tibia and were sacrified respectively in 3,8,18,28,42 days after operation to survey recorstruction of vessels of compacta of epiphysis and metaphysis. Results:The vascular changes were as follows,in early stage (3 days),the blood vessels were quite distended,in mid-stage (8-28 days),the density of vessels rose to the highest, and later stage, the density of vessels decreased but were higher than density of normal group. Conclusions:It was snggested that the blood vessels of epiphysis and metaphysis were very important in fracture healing.
