Much has been written about the shortage of quality mathematics and science teachers equipped with the skills and knowledge to engage the interest of primary and secondary students. This, in turn, is proffered as one of the root causes of poor retention of students taking up STEM subjects and was indeed one of the premises on which the ETMST program was funded.
