Average multiplicity of secondary particles in hadron-nucleus interactions

1980
The average multiplicity of secondary particles in hA interactions is studied in the framework of the theory of multiple scattering. It is shown that the predictions of the leading-particle cascade model are in satisfactory agreement with the experimental data if the uncertainties in the values of the inelasticity coefficients for hN interactions are taken into account.
