(123/72 mm Hg, [119-127/68-73]), with the CHMS. Among people who had their blood pressure measured and categorized as hypertensive (categories 3 (mild: 140-159/90-99 mm Hg) to 6 (very severe: 210/ 120)), 57.6% denied their hypertension when questioned. CONCLUSION: Even if the prevalence of diagnosed hypertension using administrative databases is higher in older women, there is no significant difference in the CHMS systolic and diastolic blood measurements although the measured systolic blood pressure tended to be slightly higher in women. Surprisingly, older hypertensive women present a lower rate of mortality. The reasons for this, such as the use of antihypertensive drug, need to be explored.
