Virtual Synchronous Generator Control Strategy with Adaptive Damping Coefficient for Interlinking Converter of the AC/DC Hybrid Microgrid

2020
With the penetration of distributed generation (DG) increased rapidly, and the DC load equipment used widely. The AC/DC Hybrid Microgrid shows great superiority, but we still face some critical problems. For example, the transient stability of power and frequency should be better to meet the increasing demand for high quality power supply. The interlinking converter (ILC) is the bond which connects microgrids. In order to reduce the transient disturbance of the power and frequency when the power communicate between the AC side and the DC side, the improved adaptive damping coefficient based on virtual synchronous generation (VSG) control strategy was proposed in this research. And the reference power signal comes from the Bilateral droop control with dead zone. In order to verify the effectiveness of the strategy, the simulation model was built in Simulink. The simulation results show that the control strategy has better control performance of the power and frequency.
