An Efficient Method for the Synthesis of 4‐Arylfuro[2,3‐a][4,7]phenanthroline Derivatives Catalyzed by Iodine.

The title compounds (IV) are efficiently obtained in a three-component one-pot reaction of various aromatic aldehydes (13 examples) with quinilin-6-amine (I) and 2,3-dihydrofuran (III) under mild reaction conditions.
