Modeling the Spread of Message Based on Percolation Theory

Online social networks can provide us a platform to post, receive and share messages, but they also bring us a lot of problems, such as generation of rumors, diffusion of illegal information and disclosure of personal information. So the study of the mechanisms of spread of message on it is of great importance. In this paper, we propose a spread model of message based on percolation theory. Using this model, we study the spread of message on real Sina Weibo reposting network and predict the spread results of message at different spread possibility. The numerical results are in good agree with those obtained by computer simulations, so our model can provide us a good reference of the real situation.
