The role of particle distribution in recrystallization in two-phase alloys

1988
Abstract Experimental studies have been conducted on single crystals of an AlSiCu alloy containing non-deformable particles. The deformed and partially recrystallized microstructures have been studied by optical and electron microscopy. The spatial distribution of second-class particles has been studied using various methods and related to the occurrence of particle-stimulated recrystallization nucleation. Particular attention is focused on the effect of this spatial distribution on the location and efficiency of recrystallization nuclei.
